Charlotte Church, globally renowned as ‘The Voice of An Angel’ and celebrated for her transcendent vocal prowess, has evolved into a vanguard of sound healing and an impassioned advocate for personal and societal change. As the founder and lead facilitator of The Dreaming, Charlotte synthesises her sweeping experiences in music, activism, and spiritual exploration to empower others in finding and using their voices for healing and transformation.
From her early rise to fame, Charlotte captured hearts worldwide with her ethereal voice. Debuting with ‘Voice of an Angel’ at just twelve years old, she quickly ascended to international stardom, gracing stages for dignitaries including Popes, Presidents, and Royalty. With over 10 million albums sold by 2007 and collaborations with icons such as Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo, her journey is one of auditory influence and profound connection—inspiring a return to the pure joy and curiosity of childhood through her music.
Beyond the stage, Charlotte has become a formidable voice for political change, championing issues from anti-austerity to gender equality. Her bold stand against media intrusion and privacy violations marks her as a leading figure in contemporary activism. She uses her platform to challenge societal norms and advocate for a more just world.
“I have a very deep love for humanity, and it pains me to see what this tumultuous world is doing to people’s mental health and wellbeing. Whether through experiences like The Dreaming or song of the soul my goal is to equip people with tools they can take home, also empowering them to be healers in their own communities.
This isn’t about singing and voice in a performance sense; you don’t need to be a singer to participate. Singing and using your voice is a birthright and we use this to ask, ‘Who are we, and what is our place and role in the world?’. Although it took courage for me to speak out on many things, for a long time, I’d been hiding.
Because I was being so observed, I felt I had to be contained so I could protect a lot of people, including myself, and so my ability to be vulnerable and to really re-write my soul and story felt totally out of reach. But through exploratory vocal practises, breath work and finding a deep connection to joy I’ve found my voice again. I want to share this knowledge and practises with other people, so we can start to explore what might be holding you back and gently guide those parts of you into the light, eventually discovering what makes your soul sing and what you want to give to the world.”
Charlotte’s journey from a celebrated singer to a pioneering sound healer and community healer reflects her profound love for humanity and her desire to contribute to a world where everyone can find their voice and their path. At The Dreaming, she continues to inspire individuals to unveil their hidden strengths and embrace their capacity to shape the world.
