Daniel Bertole and Irene Verdugo co-founded the Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza in 2008 after spotting a gap in language education on the island of Ibiza.

Daniel is German, fluent in six languages and is a graduate of the Justus Liebig Universität Giessen in Germany and the University of Texas at Austin. Irene is Spanish, fluent in five languages and is a graduate of the Universitat de Barcelona and the Justus Liebig Universität Giessen . They met during an Erasmus exchange programme and discovered a common passion. They love connecting people through language.

The Institute’s mission is to give students the opportunity to learn Spanish and experience the island’s local lifestyle. This contributes to Ibiza being an island that both tourists and locals love and enjoy.

The Instituto de Idiomas Ibiza is the largest language school on the island of Ibiza. It is the only one accredited by the official body of the Spanish state for promoting the Spanish language to the world.
