Tanzania, a country in East Africa, is a top safari destination, filled with breathtaking landscapes, astounding wildlife and vast wilderness, such as the plains of Serengeti National Park and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar. It is also home to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which was formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed around three million years ago. All of this and an incredibly fascinating and friendly local culture make Tanzania a diverse and popular destination.
For this eight-day trip with our Remarkable Transformer, Archie Rutherford, prepare to fully immerse yourself in this awe-inspiring country while under the care and guidance of world-renowned, professional travel guides, coupled with exclusive & luxurious hotels and lodges throughout your adventure.
You will spend one night in Arusha, the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It is an excellent base to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area, including the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit, as it features a temperate climate and lush surroundings. Following this, you will have two nights at Ngorongoro Crater, best known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife, making it one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Then it’s off to the vast, rolling savannah of the Northern Serengeti, known as the hub of the great migration, for four nights. The landscape is characterised by vast stretches of savannah interspersed with acacia trees and riverine woodlands. Wildlife can be seen along the banks of the Mara River, and visitors can view the annual spectacle of the half a million migrating wildebeest.
This trip is for families or private groups and can be tailored with the transformer to suit your requirements.
