overview

Imagine setting out on a journey that leads you through the stunning landscapes of the Alps while also guiding you to a deeper understanding of yourself. Welcome to Via Francigena, an ancient pilgrimage path to Rome, where each step brings you closer to uncovering your true self. With the guidance of Remarkable Transformer, João Perre Viana and Nuno Santos Fernandes, this experience becomes more than just a scenic walk—it’s a chance to explore your desires, fears, and the obstacles that may be holding you back.

This journey isn’t just about walking through mountains; it’s a thoughtfully designed experience of self-discovery. It begins with a pre-walk orientation session, giving you the foundation for meaningful reflection. Armed with a survival kit booklet, pen, wristband, WM hat, and WM water bottle, you’ll be fully equipped to engage in the Walking Mentorship program.

Over the course of eight days, from Orsières, Switzerland, into the heart of the Alps, you’ll have time for personal reflection as well as conversations with other participants. Individual mentoring sessions will help you set clear goals and create a practical plan to achieve them. The peaceful Alpine surroundings, combined with structured guidance, offer a unique setting for self-exploration and growth.

As you walk along the beautiful Alpine paths, you’ll stay in a range of accommodations, from charming manors to cozy hotels, offering a comfortable place to rest each night. With all meals provided, including breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, and beverages, you can focus entirely on your journey without worrying about the details.

This journey is about more than just exploring the Alps; it’s about discovering yourself. By the end of the program, you’ll have a clearer sense of your life’s purpose and a plan for moving forward. After the program’s feedback session, you’ll leave with a strong understanding of your progress and a personalized guide for the future.

ITINERARY
Day 1
Group gathering in Orsieres - Exercise 0,00KM
On your first day, we will gather the group in Orsieres, where we will walk towards Bourg Saint Pierre. You will take the time to reflect on the different aspects of your current situation. The exercise will take a 360-degree \"polaroid\" of your life and create a picture of where you now stand.

Lodging: Bivouac de Napoléon
Day 2
Bourg Saint Pierre to Col du Grand Saint Bernard - Exercise Connecting the dots
Our second day starts with the epic ascent to the Col du Grand Saint Bernard, where we will stay for the following two days. The second exercise is an invitation to disconnect totally and use the opportunity to dig deeper into yourself and look back on your life. What you learn from your history will help you craft your future.

Lodging: Hotel Italia
Day 3
Full day at the Col du Grand Saint Bernard - Exercise Personal Inventory
We will spend our third day of the program at the Col du Grand Saint Bernard, the perfect place to look inside our own strengths and weaknesses. The fresh air can be amazing at the top, and it helps you to look inside. If the weather allows, we will have the opportunity to have a picnic at the lakes at almost 3,000 meters, the perfect setting to look outside and to the future. The Personal Inventory exercise will help you through your own personal SWAT analysis.

Lodging: Hotel Italia
Day 4
Col du Grand saint Bernard to Saint Rhémy - Exercise My ideal future
Today, you will experience a visioning exercise. You will identify and describe how you idealize your life at a specific point in the future. We have a beautiful walk from the Col down to the beginning of the Aosta Valley, the perfect place to envision your ideal future. Here, you will feel pampered - the food is an amazing cross between contemporary Alpine and classic Italian, always supported by the best local ingredients, with amazing local wines by small producers. You\'ll have beautiful gardens, century-old streets, and countless corners for you to work on your exercise.

Lodging: SUISSE Locanda di Borgo
Day 5
Saint Rhémy to Etroubles - Exercise Purpose and outcomes
Now that you have imagined your future, you will build a bridge from your vision back to the present. This will provide you with the momentum for the decisions you must make and also the opportunity to align them with your purpose. The landscape keeps changing, but somehow, the walking becomes more natural. Another beautiful Alpine Hotel awaits us, and in Etroubles, we will have another real food experience, just like a local.

Lodging: Hôtel Beau Sejour
Day 6
Etroubles to Aosta - Exercise Take Responsibility
After selecting the outcomes you are committing to in the previous exercise, you are ready to detail your Action Plan. This is the program\'s final kilometer and the beginning of a new stage in your life. Today, we arrive in Aosta, an ancient city with so much history to share that we will take the opportunity to stay a little longer.

Lodging: Alp Apartments
Day 7
Full day in Aosta - Exercise 1,00KM
The final exercise takes place with your Action Plan already in motion. In terms of walking, we have a surprise for you.

Fine-tuning and feedback loops become your new norm. But our program is at its apex. We stay in a very special place in Aosta, and this night, the dinner is a private group event - with special toasts to the new and old friends you will have made along the Via Francigena. It is time to wrap up and collect all the amazing learnings from this week.

Lodging: Alp Apartments
Day 8
Depart from Aosta to Martigny - Exercise 1,00KM
We will bring the group back to Martigny, where you can take the train back to Geneva or to other destination. You are free to book your departure anytime. Safe travels!

Rita
I start by thanking you for this day; it was a day that went very well. Effectively, that climb brought us the initial metaphor. This is how I see our team, and I see us all very focused on the climb and very focused on arriving quickly, looking at the ground and not worrying about stopping to see if anyone needs help so we can reassess the speed and the correct speed is that makes sense and why this speed.

We will all take this metaphor with us, and it will help us to do things differently and start questioning much more and, above all, wanting and being more attentive to others. And the one who walks in front of us, at our side, in order to understand if you need help and how you feel and thus create a closer relationship of trust. I think it was a day that, in addition to allowing us to reflect on who we are as a team, also allowed us to reflect individually on how we are.

The exercise of strengths and weaknesses, when we needed to ask others’ opinions, was very powerful. It was an exercise of humility that we sometimes feel can be misinterpreted by the other side, but the availability of those who I challenged also showed that I can count on them. Thanks again for everything.

Thank you for the simple, but not simplistic, way you promoted reflection. Thank you for the non-inquisitorial, non-judgmental questions. But some questions make us think a little and look for the most accurate answer. Also, thank you for the space where we took this walk. It is a super pleasant, beautiful space that effectively promotes deceleration. And also, thank you for the smile and simplicity of the gesture with which you were also with us.

My dear, dear Joao. Where to start on this brief note? I start with love and gratitude. In my heart, I thank you for the immensely brave step you took to follow your path, your journey, and your purpose and start this work. The Buddhist, well, really, in Sanskrit, the name for work is yoga. And for good is karma. So karma yoga is what they call the good work. It could be anything from cleaning a toilet so your family and you can have sanitation. Or it could be as big as saving the world one group of seven people at a time.

And for you to have found that purpose and to have been able to apply it this meticulously, this carefully, this empathetically, is truly remarkable. It’s your very own magic potion. And you have found all the right ingredients to have this incredible potion work wonders on people, providing the right environment, just the right amount of support and pushing at the right time, pulling at the right time, leaving alone at the right time in order to have this outcome. So, my dear friend, my newly found forever friend, I want you to know that I am grateful to you. I have a lot of love in my heart for you and for what you do. I thank you for all your efforts this week.
