Imagine waking to golden light spilling over the Aegean Sea just beyond your terrace and a day of mindful movement, fresh food, and wild-hearted adventure ahead. This is more than a fitness retreat—it’s a chance to reawaken your strength, rediscover your spark, and reconnect with nature, community, and yourself.

Led by acclaimed movement coach Kayla Marie, this retreat invites you to slow down, train with intention, and say yes to the kind of experiences you don’t forget.

Kayla Marie brings over a decade of experience in yoga, functional training, and life coaching to create a week designed to challenge and transform.

Each morning begins with intention-setting and yoga to ground your energy, followed by small-group training sessions tailored to your level and goals. Using the private, fully equipped onsite gym, you’ll focus on building strength, improving mobility, and future-proofing your body for the life you want to live.

In the afternoons, there’s space for optional 1:1 recovery sessions, trail runs, sea swims—or simply a nap in the sun. And when it’s time to play, Crete’s landscapes offer endless inspiration: paddleboarding to Spinalonga, hiking gorges, and cliff-diving into cobalt-blue waters. Adventure is always within reach, and always at your pace.

Set around a peaceful courtyard, Fig Tree Villa is home for the week—four bright, beautifully designed houses with sea or mountain views, private terraces, and cosy spaces to socialise or unwind.

Rooms are twin or double, each with an ensuite bathroom, and a central open-plan kitchen and lounge. Whether you’re sharing a laugh over morning coffee or tucking into a post-training snack, the atmosphere is one of warmth, openness, and ease.

Reliable Wi-Fi is available for those who need to stay connected—but for most, the connection that matters most is with the people, the place, and the present moment.

In Crete, the outdoors is more than scenery—it’s part of the practice:

  • Swim just steps from the villa, or further afield in snorkelling spots and secret coves.

  • Hike local trails with sea views or venture out to Crete’s epic gorges, complete with waterfall dips.

  • Paddleboard to Spinalonga at sunrise—it’s just a 15-minute glide from the beach.

  • Boat trips take you to wild beaches and hidden coves, with lunch on board and time to dive into stillness—or the sea.

Every element of this retreat invites you to move, breathe, and live more fully.

Food is fresh, hearty, and deeply local—made to nourish both recovery and enjoyment.

  • Breakfast is shared after training—choose from farm-fresh eggs, local fruit, breads, or order from a favourite café.

  • Lunches range from beachside picnics to village tavernas, or something simple prepared in your villa kitchen.

  • Dinners are a highlight—each night at a different local restaurant, with generous portions and flavours that celebrate Cretan cuisine.

Meals aren’t included in the price (except breakfast), but most guests find dinner ranges between €25–35. You’re encouraged to bring snacks and anything else that makes you feel at home.

ITINERARY
Day 1
Pick up from Heraklion airport and drive to the villa. You’ll have time to settle in and explore, and then ease into our first light training session to start the week off strong, and then dinner together in Plaka.
Day 2
For early-birds, take part in an optional sunrise SUP and workout before a rewarding big breakfast. If you want to lie in, please do so! Enjoy a relaxed hike or watersports if you want, and then some free time to either go for a swim or stretch out in the open gym, followed by a group dinner.
Day 3
Let Kayla guide you through an energising workout to start the day followed by a filling breakfast. You can choose to take a trip to Spinalonga island, do some watersports, or just relax - it’s completely up to you. The gym is also open for you to use at your leisure. Then we join together for dinner.
Day 4
Enjoy an early breakfast to prepare for a longer hike through a stunning gorge with a picturesque waterfall at the end. For the super-active, join for a sweaty workout session with Kayla; otherwise take this as your free time. Then experience some local delicacies and watch the sunset to finish your day.
Day 5
Wake up for a sunrise SUP if you choose to (or not!) before a group workout and breakfast. We’ll then take you to one of our favourite wineries for the wine aficionados (optional, and we will need a minimum of four), or feel free to skip and stay around at the villa or beach. Dinner will be at a local handpicked restaurant which you’ll be sure to enjoy.
Day 6
Kick-off day 5 with a team workout and breakfast, then all aboard for a day boat trip including lunch. Late afternoon is free to enjoy as you please, and as alway the gym is available for extra training or mobility, before a communal dinner at another MLA favourite restaurant nearby.
Day 7
Last chance for an optional sunrise swim or SUP and watch the bay light up. After a workout and breakfast, it’s your free day to do as you wish. Your host will have plenty of recommendations if you need and there are plenty of activities to take part in, solo or with others from the group.
Day 8
Take part in one last coached workout to send out the week and a farewell brunch, before taking you back to Heraklion airport, fully loaded with food and energy for your return.

It was just an amazing week. Like I'm still living off the energy from it. It was without being corny, like it was everything I hoped for and more. It was a great combination of three activities a day, some downtime, trying some different food, socialising over dinner, going on a boat trip, paddle boarding. I quite enjoyed all the small things like after the beach we don't just run off like we're the guests here. We'll take the equipment back and you know, pump the paddleboards, I think it gave it a real family feel.

Crete was the perfect week of working out, beach time, working, and meeting some awesome people. The house and gym are amazing - everything is designed beautifully, the kitchen has everything you could need, and the sunrise view over the ocean out the bedroom window was breathtaking. The houses are literally across the street from the beach, and you can do a couple short walks/hikes from the house with gorgeous views of Plaka below.
